Viennese Whirls - Peg's Version of Mary Berry's

These cookies disappear as fast as you can bake them!


1 cup plus 2 TBSP butter (salted)
1/2 cup sugar (she uses confectionary)
1 1/2 cup flour
2 1/2 Tbsp corn starch
pinch salt
2 TBSP heavy cream (more if not piping well)
Filling (Icing)
2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/2 TBSP vanilla
2 TBSP heavy cream
pinch salt
(Peg just made her vanilla icing)

Bake 350 degrees
13-15 minutes

Seedless raspberry jam seems to be tastiest for the filling!

The first batch I made with conf sugar and found them too crumbly to work with.

For the filling - I used very little icing, maybe 1/2 cup for the one batch.

When cookies are cooled, turn over and place some icing on one bottom and jam on another and sandwich together!
